Although I do wish much less of the Pentagon budget was "black". Too much of the budget is opaque or obscured.
SS109 this is not directed at you, it is directed at those who constantly run thier mouths about the military, have no clue about what thier talking about,
If you believe for one minute that the DOD budget is obscured, then there are bigger problems. Every dollar that DOD gets comes from the Government. They can see what ever they want when they want. The DOD budget is not even 50% of the US budget, even with entitlements. To many people talking about things they really no nothing about. I have found numerous charts that show the budget. Each one is different, show me something conclusive and then we can go from there.
Lionshead said it best. Then all these bleeding hearts out there always RUNNING THEIR MOUTH ABOUT THE MILITARY would have to shut up and find something else to whine about.
The military spending by the U.S. military has not been in this country. The money has been spent in foreign countries. We are nation-building overseas, not here. The materials for the buildings and infrastructure are purchased within the foreign countries as much as possible and then procured from our allies secondly. Then we are paying the foreigners (such as Iraqis) for the manual labor to rebuild their countries. We are not paying U.S. citizens here in our country.
THAT is why the military spending has not stimulated our economy. It is not spent here.
From what I see there it looks like the DoD got 24% of the total budget in 2010, not half. Is the US Government always 100% honest about where the money goes? Seems to me that there are laws on the books that demand accurate accounting.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford
Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

Simple mistake to make if you are a moron.
Chief, might want to think about that. Take a look at what China and a few of the other large countries are doing. China is building the military big time. To include thier first carrier.

No need, I looked it up about a year ago.
The reason I looked it up is because when I first heard it, I did not find it credible.
