I know we have done smoking polls but after talking with some people at the Movie in the Meadows who have kids in High School up here, I found that a lot more people up here smoke it than I thought. I thought we could take a quick poll and see where people stand on it.
I don't smoke anything-but I don't believe it's the governments business what I do in my home as long as I don't harm anyone else. Marijuana laws are expensive and ineffective. Treat it the same way you treat hard liquor.
I've got my license but don't use it much because it doesn't help a great deal to smoke it. Edibles work much better and the topical THC cream has been a godsend. I'm an engineer and need my wits about me so I can't use it unless I'm on vacation or off for a few days.
In my line of work I get tested on a "random" basis (read monthly). I never smoked pot but I do enjoy a good cigar every so often but now my employer has implemented a tobacco cessation program. If you smoke any kind of tobacco your healthcare insurance costs more. To me this is a slippery slope that leads to laws that ban all of the other things that are bad for you. Like red meat or happen to be packing a few too many pounds? Enjoy the occasional cocktail or beer? Pay more for health insurance or maybe not qualify for coverage at all. I see a lot more on the horizon in the name of 'Gubment nannyism.
Back to the original point of the post, do I care if you toke up? No but please be responsible when you do, get to where you are going to stay overnight and smoke until your heart is content. If pot ever is approved at the Federal level maybe I'll give it a try but as long as it is illegal at the Federal level my employment is in jeopardy and it's not worth the risk to me.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
I don't partake, but I don't care if others do as long as they are not high behind the wheel. I found out the other day when I bought a gun that you can't buy one at a store if you have a MML. Interesting.

It makes me wonder what you thought before the movie. I don't but the vast majorty of people I know do and they range from 14 to 70 yrs old.
For the record, as a lib (ertarian), I am in favor of doing away with all victimless crimes.

I just didn't realize how many high school kids up here do it. And why is Conifer known as a 'Pot School' more so than others around this area?

Don't know how prevalent it is but I believe it is readily obtainable in elementary school. "Pot school" , don't know the reason but I did talk to a young waitress a few years a go down in Cripple Creek. She told me that in high school they came up here for their drugs.
