PrintSmith wrote: We could, if we wanted to, engage in the same demagoguery as our good friend LJ here targeting regressives, but what would be the point? To show that the power that the regressives have sought to amass in the federal government inevitably leads to abuse of power and the creation of a self serving, corrupt oligarchy? They knew that when they started down that road to consolidate the power over 200 years ago.

Alexander Hamilton, the original monarchist from which all regressives descend, said that the government of Great Britain, replete with all of its corruption, was the greatest form of government ever devised by man; and that to remove that corruption from it would be to render it impotent. He wanted to do away with states entirely and have one national government in control of everything; have a president elected for life; a Senate composed of lifelong tenures from the aristocracy class. See any correlations between his twisted vision and the reality that exists as a result of the "progressive" gains over the last 100 years? Even a blind squirrel can find that nut.

And now they dare complain about corruption within the oligarchy they have created? Really?

Oooo.... Break out the check-off list:

regressives - check
corrupt oligarchy - check (except that the corrupt oligarchy was created by the Bushies)

You forgot:

"usurpation"
"oppressive"
"socialist"

...and all the other usual trigger words of the Sovereign Citizen / Federalist / Original Intent / Constitution-worship bullsh*t checklist...

You're slipping again...

Rep. Ryan Challenges Obama to Debt Debate. He has asked Obama to debate about the debt crisis. Guarantee that Obama doesn't want his real ideas out there to the public. They will boo him off the stage!

If you were a Republican President would you debate Barney Frank or Nancy P?

I'd like to see them debate Medicare, not that they would.

Thinking about it, Ryan's Medicare proposal is a lot like Obamacare for seniors.

Both plans have a market place of private insurers to choose from.

Both plans provide government subsidies (or vouchers) to help purchase the insurance. Obama's run from 0-100% depending on your income, Ryan's is fixed, and starts at about 100% (maybe less if it ever happened).

Ryan's plan increases the vouchers using an index, but medical costs is only part of the index so they probably won't keep up with the cost of the insurance. I'm not sure about Obama's plan, but I assume the subsidies are also indexed.

Hey Loon, what does this post contribute to the debate at all? It is a video clip. Who cares where it is posted. Are you saying it would be a different clip if someone else posted it? You are a total waste of space.

The rat bastard :bash it's an import, from France at that. What about the American jobs, the jobs illegals are stealing from American vineyard workers?

FYI average retail price $165.

Doesn't much matter what the "average retail price" is, since the point of the story was how much they were spending on it in an expensive restaurant, does it...

Nice deflection, though...

And the price of tea in China?

No deflection just information.
So are you saying people shouldn't be allowed to spend their own money, how they choose? I would have preferred the group have purchased a comparable domestically produced wine, but I wasn’t asked.
