Shouldered? I think you mean stiff armed.

Laugh all you want - it fails to alter reality as it exists. The House of Representatives is under no obligation to pass legislation that meets with the approval of the executive or the Senate, only legislation that meets with the approval of the people from their district that elected them to represent their district. The legislative branch of the DC government is not subject to acting based upon the whim of the current executive. Control of the House of Representatives was given to Republicans, along with trimming the majority enjoyed by Democrats in the Senate, by the voters who sent them to DC to put the brakes on the spending that was occurring when Democrats occupied the Oval Office and enjoyed large majorities in the Congress. That is the reality, that is what the House has done. They have approved the debt limit increase necessary to prevent default and damage the good credit the nation currently enjoys which also limits the ability of the DC government to continue to spend whatever it wants to spend. They did what they were elected to do. Regressives might not like hearing that message, but it is accurate. Taxed Enough Already - TEA Party - what part of that escapes your comprehension?

Reality! I can't even believe you would mention that word in the same sentence with people who checked out of the reality-based community at least 20 years ago.

And yes, I think I'll laugh some more at the thought of that! You're very entertaining this evening, PS.

Instead of laughing or pulling an LJ, why not debate what he just said in his above post? Do you disagree with what he said and if so why?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I think anyone who knows my posting history here and elsewhere knows that I very rarely do respond to a post with laughter, but when I read that bit about Republicans in Congress "shouldering their responsibilities" I laughed so hard I spit iced tea all over my keyboard.

And to follow it up with comments regarding "reality".....well, honestly, if PS were trying to be funny he couldn't have done better.

Sorry.

Past Republicans did spend too much, but it is what politicians do, grant favors by handing out money and cutting taxes. I just think the new Freshman TEA party members haven't been corrupted so far, but fear they may be hoodwinked by the wizened Dems with their tricks.

One Obama is doing right now is refusing to lock down his wants and any cuts he is dangling are far enough in the future that they can easily disappear.

Laugh all you want, but they did pass a budget, unlike the Dem House and Senate who have failed to create a budget for the past 40 months.

One new Dem talking point is asking the Republicans where are the jobs, well the Republicans ask where is the counterbudget to the Republican one offered?
