I'm sorry Viking...but articles like this and the fawning over them by people like you contribute to the animosity in this country and the disfunctionality in our government. There are so many mistakes...misrepresentations, and outright lies in that piece it's tough to know where to start. But I have no doubt that media matters could come up with an equally obviously slanted piece that makes the Democrats look like the adults in all this and the Republicans/tea party look like misbehaving toddlers.

I've decided to concentrate my interest on proposals that tackle our problems with solutions and positive ideas...the blame game, like many other posters have pointed out, is not productive. We just don't have time for it.

Viking, your source is not an accredited liberal rag; therefore, the libtards will not recognize factual arguments presented on how we got into this mess. They will use their emotions to continue to guide them into libtardization.

Viking,

Just finished the article...man oh man....the Democrats have screwed the youth and black folks (if you are young and black you are really screwed by the Democrats)....no wonder they are beating up white people.

One of the first things Democrats did after taking back Congress in 2007 was raise the federal minimum wage 41% from 2007 to 2009. Result? The unemployment rate went from 4.4% in May 2007 to 10.1% in 2009. It is 9.2% even today -- four years later.
As for teens, the unemployment rate went from 14.9% to 27.1%, the highest ever recorded, meaning since 1948. Today it is still a high 24.5%. And for blacks: from a low of 7.9% in 2007 to 16.5% in 2010. It is still a high 16.2%.

I know. Those are the two hardest hit groups by the Democrat policies. It will hurt them big in the election as those demographics normally vote big for the Dems.

Well, right off the bat, your article's source has to put off a lot of liberals: American Thinker.

Actually, I think what throws liberals off more than anything these days is that the Dems took over a 'mess that the Republicans made' (even though it's been a Dem Congress for over four years) and then with a Dem president leading the charge made 'the Republican mess' about ten times worse in a mere two years. So, now who are they supposed to blame?

Doesn't matter. Thanks to both parties' self-serving MO and criminal incompetence, we're about to sink into an economic quagmire that will make online mudslinging unaffordable.

........Do the Democrats seriously expect anyone to believe that S&P’s downgrade of U.S. debt arises out of something that Republican Congressmen have done in the last six months? We expect the Democrats to appeal to ignorance at all times, but this is ridiculous.Let’s take a walk down memory lane. What did the Democrats do with respect to federal debt during the four years they controlled both Houses of Congress? Here is a summary of the deficits the Democrats racked up during that time:

FY 2008 — $460 billion
FY 2009 — $1,410 billion ($1.4 trillion)
FY 2010 — $1,300 billion ($1.3 trillion)
FY 2011 — $1,600 (estimated) ($1.6 trillion)"...

"Poll data suggest that the Democrats have succeeded, to a considerable degree, in demonizing the Tea Party movement. That success has no doubt emboldened them to try to lay their own failures at the Tea Party’s door. But it is hard to believe that even the dimmest voters will fall for the idea that the movement that was founded in order to do something about the spending and debt crisis is somehow to blame for that crisis..........

Are you saying the S&P lied about why they downgraded us?
