"Kill Romney"

The House has addressed jobs, but Reid is trying to keep Obama from having to take a stance prior to the election next year by letting their efforts sit on the table. Significantly reducing the amount of money DC spends every year will have a positive impact on the job market. With no treasuries to buy to fund the deficit spending, the money currently being invested there will have to be invested in other areas - areas that have a positive impact on employment. Republicans intuitively understand this. Republicans also intuitively understand that the only jobs government can create are government jobs, which take resources away from the economy that would be otherwise put to use in the private sector, which is where the jobs that grow the economy are created. We also intuitively understand that allowing someone to keep more of the fruits of their own labor acts as an incentive to produce more whereas increasing the government's take acts as a disincentive. A slightly smaller percentage of a significantly larger number results in more revenue than a larger percentage of a slightly larger number. That is what the history of tax revenue tells us when we look at the last 65 years of revenue data. We have also learned from history that reducing tax rates at the same time that actual spending is reduced results in a much quicker recovery from an economic downturn than either lowering tax rates and dramatically increasing spending or raising tax rates and slightly slowing the unsustainable rate at which spending increases. That is why Republicans favor the first option over either of the other two.

Specifics please....the vague idea that if the GOP is in power there will be more jobs just doesn't cut it.

Specifically the Ryan Budget; Cut, Cap & Balance; Mack's Penny Plan. All of these significantly reduce the amount of money that DC spends and none of them attempt to send more of the fruits of anyone's labor to DC. The House can't pass a bill that requires a company to hire new workers, all they can do is attempt to put into place laws that promote the growth of the economy and reduce the burden of DC on the citizens of the states. Not much more they can do, especially when Reid keeps tabling the legislation so that it can't be debated, amended and sent back to the House for further action. What do you want them to do archer, spend more money DC doesn't have and can't collect in revenue creating and saving public union jobs and exposing the DC government to a further reduction in their credit rating like the previous Congress did? That has been shown not to increase employment, why double down on a failed policy?
