They spend trillions on crap and it does nothing but they have to cut a 200 year program that only cost $5 million dollars and helped so many learn about and become involved in our government. I know two people who were pages. They because very successful. The cuts our government does are so bass ackwards!

Do you really think anyone in congress thinks 5 mil is even real money. Dollars to donuts they are doing it to head off another scandal.

If Obama wasn't shooting so many of them off in Libya they wouldn't need to be replaced in the inventory.

About time they ended the program, just like the post office, they have outlived their usefullness. NPR says they really didn't have anything to do once e-mail started.

If youth wanted to get involved in politics, there is always some election campaign going on. That is where I started working for Gary Hart in Iowa.

(Does that sentence make me look old?)

I'm sure Congress is happy the missiles are being used, at least the Congressmen/women on the Raytheon payroll.

Raytheon is one of the five largest defense contractors and has benefited from the military's increasing reliance on cruise missiles. Missile sales have also been paralleled by its lobbying effort. Raytheon, now the world's biggest producer of guided-missiles, spent just shy of $7 million on congressional lobbying in 2010, compared to $2.32 million a decade earlier, according to the Center for Responsive Politics' OpenSecrets.org.

Raytheon has liberally sprinkled campaign contributions across Congress, including more than $2.1 million in 2009-2010. The contributions were balanced between parties, with 53 percent going to Democrats and 46 percent to Republican candidates, according to OpenSecrets.

Not a very tolerant man are you? Underage sex with girls is OK, but not underage homosexual sex? You are a man after Teddy Kennedy's heart.
