Concure. I was going to watch but took a nap instead. Still, saw this and think it is cute.

A reader, inspired, he says, “ by the sudden outburst of poesy at THE WEEKLY STANDARD,” sends in this reflection on last night’s debate:

On the eleventh day of August,
Bret Baier gave to me...
Tim Pawlenty sniping,
Michele Bachmann fighting,
Herman Cain joking,
Jon Huntsman hoping,
Newt Gingrich explaining,
Rick Santorum complaining,
Ron Paul declaiming,
Mitt Romney Bain-ing,
And...
Rick Perry waiting.
But...
No golden rings,
No soaring birds,
No fresh lens,
No rising above,
And no candidate who inspired me.

Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry and Ron Paul are in a statistical dead heat among Iowa conservatives, according to a new poll conducted by the 2012 Iowa Report. The poll finds Bachmann at 24% with Perry and Paul at 23% support among likely conservative caucus goers, showing that three candidates have separated themselves from the field among conservatives.

Anyone else have a issue with their dogs going bezerk when the bells warning the candidates went off? Didn't even sound like out doorbell but the dogs still freaked.

Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.

"— the politics of cats and dogs.

A close examination of their behavior reveals that by nature cats are libertarians and dogs are liberals. "...............................
"Dogs, like liberals, love routine. Liberalism has been a major political tendency for at least a century, with few new ideas for decades. It is old, and we all know that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

Cats are fastidiously clean animals that take great pains to bury their poop. They take personal responsibility and consider the rights of others in consigning their waste in-ground where it will decompose quickly and not be stepped on.

The foundation of libertarianism is personal responsibility and consideration of the rights of others — a direct correlation with cats.

On the other hand, canines leave their “presents” anywhere they feel the need. No consideration for others, no personal responsibility. Liberalism, along with its handmaiden political correctness, has for decades been the driving force in negating personal responsibility in our culture.Libertarians, like cats, are concerned about the environment. I just read that every Republican candidate at the debate rejected an idea of increasing revenue by $1 for every $10 of spending cuts. Are they really interested in fiscal responsibility when they make this kind of decision?

http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/0 ... ject-deal/

All Republican Candidates Say They Would Reject Deficit Deal With 10 To 1 Ratio Of Spending Cuts To Revenue | When asked during tonight’s GOP presidential primary debate if they would walk away from a deficit reduction deal that had a spending cut to revenue ratio of 10 to 1, all of the candidates raised their hands to indicate that they would.

Raise taxes $1 while cutting spending $10? Seems like a good deal to me.

Yeah, dogs believe everyone is good. They are fearlessly loyal and will give their lives to save yours. They don't poop in the house like cats, who lay around all day and expect you to feed them. Dogs are willing to go out and catch something to eat, if need be. They also have more fun that cats.

In short, if I had to come back as either a cat or a dog, I wouldn't hesitate in answering. I'd want to come back as a dog.

I've had dogs poop in the house and I've had cats feed themselves. I find admirable qualities in both animals.
