http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/obs ... O_20110822 GOP Candidate Jon Huntsman Makes Waves with Tweet on Evolution and Climate Change
By John Matson | August 19, 2011
Jon Huntsman posted a statement on his official Twitter account yesterday that is sure to endear the Republican presidential hopeful to the scientific community:
The statement was retweeted widely, along with a few warnings that many people would, indeed, call Huntsman crazy for holding those beliefs. (I retweeted it myself, not as a political endorsement but because of its newsworthiness—his avowed pro-science stand on those issues puts him in rare company among the frontrunners.)
Huntsman then remarked on his sudden increase in followers; today he has added more new followers (1,085) than any American politician other than President Barack Obama, according to the Web site Fan Page List. But even with Huntsman’s recent Twitter flurry, he remains near the bottom of the GOP-hopeful pack in Twitter followers.
The main action they all don't support is one I don't either, cap-and-trade, so no biggie there. Free market solutions aren't going to fix the problem, unless the gov't starts allowing oil prices to be truly free market - stop subsidizing them and watch what happens.

With Perry & Bachman splitting the TEA Party, Huntsman might pick up a lot of liberal Republican and even independent voters when he runs in states with open primaries.

Considering the crappy job that Obama's done tackling environmental issues, Huntsman'll get a lot of those votes if he actually comes up with a plan, or sounds like he'll work on it in earnest. A foresee lots of moderates winning in the next election - people are sick of extremists' rhetoric.

You get to read the Hard Right all day here but in 2008, guess who won the Republican primaries? McCain, who had a very moderate voting record in the Senate. Not Huckabee or the other Far Right candidates. There are a lot more moderate Republicans out there than you believe.
Then again with you being so far left, even Obama looks like a Righty to you.

The GOP has moved WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY right since 2008. It will be an interesting experiment to see what happens with the control of the GOP. It is infested with a lot of stupid people right now
It hasn't moved right. It's moved closer to big money, but my liberal friends assure me the Democrats have too. Also the move away from the sciences and caring for your fellow man is disturbing to me.
we can all thank The Robert's court ruling on Citizen's United. Of course, what else would we expect from this court where some of the members attend one or more of the (twice yearly) Koch Brothers "secret meetings"
