During Secret Retreat With Billionaires, Koch Lobbyist Admits Tea Party Group ‘Designed’ To Elect Republicans In 2010
This morning, blogger Brad Friedman, writing in Mother Jones and BradBlog, revealed a set of audio tapes from the last major donor meeting convened by the billionaire Koch brothers. There are a number of startling revelations from the scoop — but the opening remarks from Kevin Gentry, a Koch Industries executive at the firm’s DC lobbying office, blow the cover off the many Tea Party efforts underwritten by the billionaires in the Koch network of donors.
You've obviously never been to a Tea party meeting or rally. Nobody pulls the strings, and if you ask me, they are the only ones trying to keep politicians accountable. Yes, they tend to try to elect people who are fiscally sane, and that tends to be republicans during election time. The tea party does hold them accountable though. If they get to washington and become like everyone there, they have no issue voting them out and finding another one.
Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
That's like saying the Tea Party is racist because of a couple racist signs out of thousands of goood concerned citizens (which were pressured to leave in most cases). But it's easy to say the Tea Party is based on a few select donor meetings instead of admitting that it IS a true grass roots movement that made a difference in the political landscape
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
Have to agree with the first reply. The TEA Party might have been initially funded by the Kochs, but it is now out of their control. Think the Koch's wanted Maes & O'Donnel to win their primaries?
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
You know how bad things are for the mainstream media. That's all they can afford now with their ratings so low. It's what you get for backing the loser.
