We are a nation of laws.....and when you don't like a particular law, you work to change it. You don't break the law just because you think it's unfair. I am surprised to see many here championing the cause of criminals. I guess they agree with the illegals too....it's OK to break a law you don't agree with.....or, is it only OK if you are wealthy?

Burden of proof anyone? An illegal alien is pretty easy to prove that he is breaking the law, in the US without the proper visa.
Tax cheats? That is a little harder to prove. And if you threaten to bankrupt the target of your investigation, you can see why people settle up. The IRS can claim it caught a tax cheat without proving the charges.
I know of a rifle maufacturer who had the ATF swoop in one day, shut them down, no earning potential, didn't even have computers to take orders. The ATF suspected that the company was making illegal weapons without registering them, but were never able to prove it. They kept digging until they found a totally different minor charge, meanwhile after months of legal bills and no income for the company, the owners just agreed to plead to the minor charge. The company was destroyed.
There is a reason why they tell people to fear your goverment.
But LJ is a IRS supporter and trusts them to do everything by the book. :can't hear

What is unjust about expecting people to pay the taxes they owe? Why should the middle class have to pay their taxes or face serious consequences, but the wealthy should not? Wow, I knew the Republicans were big on supporting the wealthy, but I never thought they would advocate the wealthy rise up in revolution against their own country so they can avoid paying their taxes. I learn something new every day.
archer a revolution and a civil war were fought over laws deemed unfair, but as long as you make your ridiculous conclusions I know we aren't living in the Twilight Zone.

And just what conclusion should be drawn from your support of those breaking US laws by not paying taxes?
