[quuote]“Middle-class families shouldn’t pay higher taxes than millionaires and billionaires,” Obama said Monday. “That’s pretty straightforward. It’s hard to argue against that.”[/quote]
Indeed it is. What isn't hard to argue against is Obama's solution to the situation, which is raising the taxes of everyone to the level that the federal government wishes to spend. The solution that he refuses to accept or adopt lies in lowering the tax rates and reducing the level of federal spending to something approximating what the federal government can hope to realize in tax revenues on a consistent basis. By admitting the failure that has ensued by attempting to control all governance both foreign and domestic over the last 80 years we might actually have a chance at fixing the problem, which is that the federal government has usurped too much power and authority for itself and the power to address the domestic welfare of the citizens of the States should be returned to the States. The sooner we adopt this common sense solution the sooner we can stop sticking band-aids over the deep wounds that this usurpation has inflicted on the general welfare of the union of 50 independent and sovereign states.
