The two Americans were released on bail of $500,000 each and their sentences for spying convictions were commuted, Iran's judiciary said, according to government-run Press TV.

Bail?... That was a million dollar ransom, it is not 'bail'. They won't return for a trial, and none of that money is coming back. Wonder who came up with the ransom money?

Rumor is, that upon returning to America they will go back to Berkley and take a course in basic geography.

Unlike the USA- Iran takes it's border security seriously, they may even have crossed outside their border to arrest these 3 idiots just because they got too close.

There is no country of Kurdistan- you mean northern Iraq.

I don't know if I buy the spook theory- that's what Iran says.

In Iran- if you cross the border illegally- you get 10 years. In the USA, you get a job, under the table wages tax free, free medical, subsidized housing, welfare checks, free education paid for by taxpayers, free healthcare and a free ride home if your convicted of a crime.

Perhaps I missed it, but did they ever explain why they went to Iraq in the first place, and why they were hiking so close to the border? I don't know if they actually were spies, trying to look like innocent hikers, or innocent hikers with no common sense whatsoever.
