Sarah Palin Says Herman Cain Is The 'Flavor Of The Week,' Flubs GOP Candidate's Name

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin praised businessman and Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain but also called him the "flavor of the week" during an her appearance on Fox News' "On The Record" with Greta Van Susteren Tuesday night.

"Take Herb Cain. Look at why he's doing so well right now. I guess you could say, with all due respect, he’s the flavor of the week," Palin said.

"Because Herb Cain is the one up there who doesn't look like he's part of that permanent political class," the former governor continued, fumbling on the candidate's first name. "He came from a working class family. He's had to make it on his own all these years. We respect that."

God, I love this woman... Every day is a new nugget to add to the ever-growing list of stupidity-on-parade.

Is the "H" silent?

Maybe she considered knowing his real first name one of those liberal media "gotcha" questions, in the vein of "What newspapers do you read?"

Herman Cain says Black Community ‘Brainwashed’ Voting for Democrats

The most talked about point of the interview came when Cain said that black voters are brainwashed into voting Democrat because President Barack Obama is African American. He further explains the brainwash prohibits voters to even consider conservative views and that he, himself, have received criticism for running on a Republican ticket.

Although Palin might have mis-spoke on the Cain's name, her other point is very astute. In this modern media age of 24 hour news and attack blogs, will politicians have much shorter careers?
Obama was trumpeted at his election and inaguration, but 18 months later, he and his minions were taking a "shellacking".

Seems like every month a new Republican is trumpeted as the man, and as soon as Cain is destroyed, another will arise. Maybe Christie? Michelle Bachman won the Iowa straw poll and only weeks later, her poll numbers are down to single digits.

He's certainly surging in the polls, almost pulling even with Rick Perry.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the next election came down to a choice between two black candidates?

A year and half old, but still funny. But what do you expect? English isn't his first language, since he's a Kenyan. Thanks, Outdoor.

Wow, that was at a National Prayer Breakfast... but I thought he was a Muslim.

Here's something else he said at the same event:

"You can question my policies without questioning my faith -- or for that matter, my citizenship," he said, a reference to persistent conspiracy theories about his national origins.

"We may disagree about the best way to reform our health care system, but surely we can agree that no one ought to go broke when they get sick," Obama said. "We may disagree about gay marriage, but surely we can agree that it's unconscionable to target gays and lesbians for who they are."

Speaking directly on the subject of prayer, Obama said it can "touch our hearts with humility." Fusing that topic with his broader theme of civility, he quoted Martin Luther King Jr. -- "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend" -- and Abraham Lincoln: "We are not enemies, but friends. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection."

Another Obama quote:

"If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, 'We're gonna punish our enemies, and we're gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us'
