This has been discussed here before about the Republican picks but I haven't heard much if anything from liberals here about Obama. If I was seeing liberal threads about all the great things he's done in office, it wouldn't be worth bringing up this poll.

I don't know about the other liberals here, but for me, to start a thread about Obama is not inviting discussion, it brings out the "Odumbo" and "libtards", and more ridicule than I care to deal with. He has done some things I like, and some things I dislike, but no way could there ever be a discussion of Obama on this message board without the ridicule not only of Obama, but of anyone who dares to even mention his name. Would you hold your hand out to a rabid wolf? Well I feel the same way about trying to discuss Obama with the conservatives here.

I would love to debate you anytime, any day about Obama's positives and I AM fully capable of doing it without insults. I've tried several times but all I ever get is backlash for trying to make this place more civil.

My offer will always stand.

I believe you CriticalBill, and would welcome a conversation/discussion, but on this message board there are always the drive by insulters, and I just don't have the energy to deal with it. I have just finished what you are going through......it has left me with the understanding that life is way too short to spend it being insulted/ or defending the simplest statement. Sure, I can get down and dirty just like the rest of the posters here.....but when a real discussion is desired, it just doesn't happen here in politics, Here it is more people discussing politics as entertainment (if you like horror movies)

Looks like we agree for once. I still have small hopes of an occasional debate without the drive by haters chiming in. And yes, being sick 24/7 is tough enough without the added rise in blood pressure (hope you are out of the woods). I wish I wasn't interested in politics but I just can't help myself.

I get better every day, a little at a time, Testing in another month should tell me what I need to know about those woods, thanks for the good thoughts. I too hope you get through this and see a better time ahead... keep a close watch on your heart and everything involved with it......I didn't, and being so caught up with the chemo I ignored everything else, till I ended up in the hospital needing two new shiny stents in a coronary artery. It's too easy to concentrate on one area of our well being to the detriment of others.

Politics, I must confess, is one thing that kept my interest for 18 months.....what else is there to do when you are home 24/7 then get on the computer and concentrate on something as all consuming as political debate?

Archer, how often do they test you? I am glad to say they got mine out with surgery, no chemo but they scan me every 10 weeks.

Luck to us all.

PET scan every 3 months and Colonoscopy every year, but all that got held off because of the heart issue, so my first PET scan will be 9 months after the end of chemo, and the colonoscopy almost 2 years after the surgery. That has made for a lot of scary months wondering about what is going on, but A CAT scan showed all clear 6 months ago :) A PET scan is just more definitive. You should be pleased you didn't need chemo, a scan every 10 weeks is a good idea, I wish you continued clear scans!

I remember a list of his accomplishments that people were adding to in a discussion on here. I also remember myself and several others expressing our dissatisfaction with Obama (several times).

I will now list the accomplishments of President Obama:

1) Blame Bush for economic situation.
2) Whines about Republicans
3) 100 speeches per year at schools and colleges.
4) Master the language of Teleprompter
5) Played over 1000 holes of golf in 3 years.

We have much of the same issues...check your PMs. I think we have much more in common when it comes to the real important stuff.
