Yemen defense ministry: Radical American imam killed

Wait, didn't I hear Obama running around claiming that Afghanistan was a "war of necessity'? I'm positive I heard him say that. If it is a war of necessity now, wasn't it also a war of necessity back in 2002?

"This is not a war of choice. This is a war of necessity," Obama told the annual Veterans of Foreign Wars conference -- cautioning that the insurgency would not be defeated overnight. "Those who attacked America on 9/11 are plotting to do so again. If left unchecked, the Taliban insurgency will mean an even larger safe haven from which Al Qaeda would plot to kill more Americans."

I belive this was a good shoot, however can you imagine the headlines if Bush had authorized killing of an American Citizen?

“Bush Authorizes Murder.”
“Bush Administration kills US Citizen Living Abroad.”
“Bush Tramples on the Constitution and Authorizes Killing US Citizens.”
“Christen Bush has Muslim Cleric Killed”
And from the Boulder Daily Camera “Bush Kills CSU Graduate”

Were we attacked by Afghanistan? (No, and we weren't attacked by Iraq either...) Just because Obama said it was necessary doesn't mean I agree with him. There were two UNNECESSARY wars...and Bush started both of them.

I think someone else started them by using a few planes as human guided missiles. I'm willing to bet you my last shiny FDR dime that we wouldn't be in either place right now without that attack taking place.

Yeah, it's a good think it didn't involve the Iraq or the Afghanistan government...

Ahhh, but it did involve the Afghan government - they are the ones who were giving safe haven to the folks who committed an act of war against this union and the citizens of the states. Bush gave the Afghanistan government plenty of opportunities to turn over the terrorists they were harboring and they refused to do so. Have you forgotten so much in such a short time LJ?

Yep... Sounds like a good reason to invade and kill 4,000 of our guys, and start a war that's lasted 10 years now... How dare they... Those guys that committed the act should be punished... And harboring them?!?! Wow, I guess we should declare war, kill 4-5,000 more of our guys and invade Pakistan too..

Well at least we have dispensed with the lies of the left that Bush started the war and that it did not involve the government of Afghanistan. That's a pretty good day's work.

It didn't involve the government of Afghanistan... But thanks for playing. (It didn't involve Iraq either...)

I can just see the headline on Fox News:

Obama assassinates conservative American for exercising freedom of speech
