With the moderate Mitt Romney the GOP's likely nominee, a frustrated and fed-up Tea Party might just give up on politics altogether
Remember the Tea Party? It used to be a very big deal in this country. Yet here we are, weeks away from January Republican primaries that are likely to be decisive, and one by one the Tea Party candidates for president have fallen away.
Sarah Palin: Bowed out.
Michele Bachmann: Campaign imploded.
Donald Trump: Remember him?
Ron Paul: Too odd for prime time.
Newt Gingrich: Dead on arrival.
Tim Pawlenty: Miscast in the role.
Chris Christie, Mitch Daniels, Haley Barbour: All declined the part.
Herman Cain: At minute 13 of his 15 minutes of fame.
And I thought all the Lefties here said that the Tea Party would choose a nominee who was so far to the Right as to be unelectable, but it doesn't look like the GOP will choose an O'Donnel nor a Maes. Instead we are leaning towards the most moderate guy in the bunch, Romney. McCain, with better hair.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
The prospects of resolving American problems are limited, at best.
The problem is that dogma is blocking solutions. (the dogma is on both sides).
Honestly, I think we'll see a widened gap between sensible policy and dogma - and that we'll see violent confrontations in America within 3-5 years.
Occupy Wall Street is a cute, novel movement of disenfranchised (and bored) wannabes. Within 3-5 years, we'll see a seriously militant resistance movement - and there will be violence.
Wish I could conclude otherwise - but that's where I see us headed.

So...Tea Party = GOP, got it.

I don't think that would be a valid statement. True the TP groups would support Romney over Obama, but as for preferring Romney over some of the other candidates not true. Perry is still alive, Cain is coming on strong, and I wouldn’t count out Newt.

The Tea Party will remain a success if all they do is keep pressure on the GOP to stay more right than left. I don't think it's as important to elect the "darlings" as it is to hold the currently elected accountable for their actions. And I'll bet Obama's worthless jobs bill would have passed had there been no TP...Blue Dogs would not be feeling the pressure.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
