You think Goliad was a high spot in Texas history? I disagree. It was an embarrassment. Fannin surrendered to the Santa Anna. His men were executed by the Mexican army.

He should have fought to the death. Imagine him being in command of the Alamo.

The Alamo was not defended to the death, but it was overrun by the Mexicans and those taken were then executed. Davy Crocket was among those executed.

I didn't say the Alamo was defended to the death.

Travis chose to stand and fight, as did his men. Fannin chose to surrender his fort and his men.
