Here is what is wrong with our country today! A Democrat in Ohio suing for loss of 'livelihood' because he lost an election. They need to make him pay for EVERY PENNY of the lawyers and court costs when it gets thrown out for absolute stupidity and greed!

And people question why I'm "Pro-assassination"......

People keep begging to hear my "radical" views... there's one. I'll be vague, no explanation... just don't give a damn.

Maybe he could apply for disability since he's obviously too damaged to find a REAL JOB. What a loser.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I had to read the article, then Google the guy's name for more info.

Apparently he is suing because he alleges an anti-abortion group LIED about his stance on abortion -- basing their belief that anyone who voted for Health Care Reform was pro-abortion.

Driehaus is suing the Susan B. Anthony List, a group that supports pro-life candidates for Congress and which has been one of the leading and most effective organizations involved in the fight to cut off federal funding to Planned Parenthood.

Maybe if they lose, they and other political groups will be a little more careful about spreading misinformation and lies.

It's a sad day for America when any politician looses an election and then cries foul when they lost fair and square. Someone somewhere in the ACLU is for this suit and someone else in the ACLU is against it... IMHO, if you lost cowboy up and face the music, if you really think you are the right person for the job try again in the next election and do it on a platform that conveys why you are the best candidate for the position.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

So spreading outright LIES about a candidate is losing fair and square in your mind?

Why don't we just identify one modern day politician who does not lie and cheat. Let's get real.

So saying someone is a murderer when they're not, is OK in a political campaign? Or do we just go with the "everybody does it" defense?

It's ok to sling as much mud (truth or not) as you want to on either side until someone looses the election AND then file a law suit? If a Republican made the same claim would you be as outraged? Somehow I doubt it...

If an election is held and one candidate looses that is the outcome of the election. The only appropriate law suit in this case would be defamation of character by way of slander and false accusations. If I read the OP correctly the suit in question has to do with "loss of livelihood." I'm only a sh*thouse lawyer but I'm guessing one claim is not the same as the other.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
