At a million-dollar San Francisco fundraiser today, President Obama warned his recession-battered supporters that if he loses the 2012 election it could herald a new, painful era of self-reliance in America.

While I can agree with the sentiment, there are those of us who are already quite self-sufficient in many areas growing food and providing for our families as best as possible. It shouldn't be mandatory to give up what one man provides to those he doesn't know, but rather a voluntary action. Basically, if he can spare assistance be it, food, medicine, etc., he does so on his own free will.

I agree as long as the less fortunate are unable to be self reliant...assuming that everyone on the government tit is incapable of self reliance is what the Dems count on...if too many no longer depend on the government to get by, what happens to the Dems voter base? Bye Bye. So keep em needy at all costs by telling them they can't get by on their own.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
