What a great opportunity for DU to shine! (I'm glad I don't work there anymore though - going to work those couple of days prior and the day of would've been a nightmare, parking sucks as is already).

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Except DU is paying more than one million to host the event. I hope the students don't mind the increase in their tuitions for this vanity move.

Plus Denver PD gets to pay overtime for all the security.

DU couldn't buy the promotional opportunity this will afford the university. It puts them on a level of the major league U's.

I think it is a great thing for DU and Colorado. International attention. Now we just need to pray for a beautiful day the day of the debates, than an early blizzard to get everyone worldwide in a skiing mood, and show them our awesome climate!

The only bad thing is the potential for 2 candidates who will do nothing to change our current situation. We know one will be more of the same, and there is potential for 2 such candidates....

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

Think DU would have got this debate if we weren't a battleground state?

We were a battleground state last time around and we didn't get a debate. As I recall, Alabama hosted one.
