Panetta weighs military cuts once thought out of bounds

Would you want the US goverment to be in control of your retirement fund and invest your money? You are a funny guy! They took my social security deposits and spent it on the welfare state. I am depending on people who haven't even been born yet. Or the IOU's LBJ started issuing in 1965.

It does seem unfair to be screwed if you get out a couple years short of 20. And I have read stories about guys who tried to do the minimum those last few years.

Panetta will recommend cuts - and then a war with Iran will demand emergency appropriations - so the cuts will be moot.

Does anyone here REALLY think "defense" will be cut????? There's way too many influential lobbiests around the Washington beltway.

I'd note further --- there's a ton of veteran benefits that will need to be paid out within a decade - ranging from health care to education to VA Loans.

These costly programs aren't going to go anywhere ---- inefficient or not.....

Fred Barnes was predicting tonight the military cuts will be proposed but the Republicans will shoot them down.

Fighting Iran? Should have done that when we still had 100K troops in Iraq. Maybe we will pay Israel to take them out their nukes with tactical nukes.

The Republicans would vote down a bill to suggest flossing after every meal...if Obama proposed it. What's new?

 Actually on Obama's latest jobs bill, Dems are joining the Republicans on voting down Obama's plans.

As he should. I heard that Apple fired Steve Jobs at one point. Good thing they did, because that failure ultimately ended up as the iPhone, iPad, etc.

I hope they DO go forward again.
