Perry previews plans to "uproot" federal government

WOW does this man have some bold plans! The likes that we have not seen in decades! Can't wait to hear the details tomorrow.

"Tomorrow I'm going to unveil a plan to uproot all three branches of government and overhaul Washington. It touches every branch of government because they each have contributed to the demise of America," Perry said.

Among his targets for change: lifetime federal judges "who arrogantly rewrite our laws from the bench," the permanent bureaucracy of the executive branch which "thwarts the will of the American people to advance a big government agenda," and a Congress that Perry says "is in Washington too much."

"I'm going to fight to overhaul Washington and build a smaller, more humble federal government," he said.

His attacks on Washington were not limited to just the government. He also railed against the affluent residents in the greater Washington area, saying that "those lobbyists ... those overpaid czars and bureaucrats" who live there "haven't suffered one bit" during the recession.

Perry also attacked President Obama for his comments to CEOs over the weekend that Americans had gotten "lazy."

"Mr. President, Americans aren't lazy, and they're not soft. Americans do not lack a vision or ambition, we lack leadership in Washington, DC," Perry said. "That's what this country lacks."

So...when he gets to uprooting the federal government, do you think he will remember to include the Dep't of Energy?

I think as long as he can convince all 57 states to go along with him.

I liked the term uprooting better than mine of revamping....it evokes the image of Perry tearing it out of Washington...I wonder where he will put it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Perry spent considerable time trying to figure out what those 7 states are, and where they went.

Do you think Perry will rest on the 7th day after he rebuilds the federal government?

NONE of the other candidates have come up with big change ideas like Perry has. The 20% flat tax, allowing the old plan to stay in place so people get use to it and so it can actually pass unllike other plans that raise taxes on at least 50% of Americans that has no chance of passing. The start at $0 for foreign aid to all nations and have them make their case for OUR tax dollars and countries like Pakistan won't get any if they keep supporting the terrorists. Now this plan which part of it will be to fight against lifetime appointments for out of control justices. That is destroying this country. They need to be re-elected in so they can't keep passing thier radical agendas.

All the other candidates sound just like the same ones that have run for decades. Nothing really new. Not sure why Americans are afraid of some real change in this country.

Really

Ron Paul works towards the elimination of the inefficient Department of Education, leaving education decisions to be made at the state, local or personal level. Parents should have the right to spend their money on the school or method of schooling they deem appropriate for their children. On November 14, 2008 Ron Paul said in a New York Times interview: “First, the Constitution does not authorize the Department of Education, and the founders never envisioned the federal government dictating those education policies.

Ron Paul is a nut, but Viking, you're wrong, your statement "NONE of the other candidates have come up with big change ideas like Perry has" is plain wrong. And other conservative politicians have also discussed getting rid of certain federal agencies. Hell... even talk radio hosts have been talking about it for years. Perry is far from unique. Go do some homework.

Waiting for Armageddon since 33 AD

I don't know why you're still going on about Perry. His political train to the nomination has come and gone, according to all the polls. He might make a good Secretary of Agriculture.
