I think this whole push for war is being put out, not by the defense industry but by the Obama administration.
1.They know a wartime president is rarely defeated.
2. A good war would give the administration a better opportunity to grab more power from the citizens and from the states.

Push for war?...Gee, I thought you guys were spouting the right-wing line just a couple of weeks ago about Obama's "cut and run" policy (which was negotiated by Bush) to bring the troops home, which you didn't like...because we needed to "stay strong."

So, which is it today? He's a warmonger, or a cut-n-run wimp? So many talking points, so little time.

Gee, the only ones I see flip-flopping at the moment are you guys trying to create something where nothing exists.

It must leave a helluva crick in your neck with all that whip-lashing....

I heard a pundit on Fox predict Obama will create a war with Iran by next summer. Iran probably would be willing to start it just to divert attention from thier poor economy. But I think that would be a miscue for Obama & Axelrod. The public is sick of war right now, and it would really piss off his base.

Back on topic: Of course Big Defense is going to lobby Congress to keep the big money defense projects going on. It is a great source of high paying jobs for a Congressman's district. Would you want to be Coffman if Martin Marietta closes shop?

Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.

Personally, I'd rather see the money go to education, infrastructure improvements, health care for ALL citizens, ... than to keep a few extra jobs in a Congressman's district....
