It’s time for Tebow to ST*U

Liberal talk show host Bill Press so politely puts it...

This is the trash rhetoric that makes up the left. You can see it on 285 Bound daily, from the local socialist, and you can go for the national trash mouth from the mainstream progressives in the media. A full plate of crap served up by the left every day.

Like crap doesn't get thrown from both sides both here and in the media? You're throwing your share of it with that post. I've seen many liberals here supporting Tebow and his religion...myself included.

First off... I'm not talking about both sides... that's a worthless Tu Quoque fallacy... I'm talking about the LEFT and I'm talking about Bill Press and I'm talking about this comment. And I don't care if you support Tebow. I'm not talking about you. If you want to talk about the conservative talkers, comments and nastiness, start a thread on that. But your deflection is evident. I will give you one compliment. You didn't have to wait for Lady Jazzer to give you permission to jump in and support something she said. You entered this conversation all on your own. No one even held your hand. But let's try to stay on topic.

So... what do you think of Bill Press's remark?

Would it be OK to tell Martin Luther King to shut up?
Would it be OK to tell Caesar Chavez to shut up?
Would it be OK to tell Gloria Steinam to just quit talking?

Personally I am not really religious and am not really comfortable with Tebow always discussing/thanking Jesus and God, but I don't think he needs to put a lid on it.

Why is it that anyone needs to conform to a particular way of life? Live and let live. Tebow is who he is. Why is it so hard to accept someone for who they are, strengths and perceived weaknesses?

Special people like Vl use the term STFU because their way and line of reasoning is the only way that counts. Right. No one like that apparently has anything significant to say.

I'm sick of him and the press coverage he gets. Keep it in the locker room.

bill press is thier version of russ limbaugh, don't care for either one. Tebow has the RIGHT to say a prayer if he so desires. It is no one elses bussiness what he believes, if he prays etc. That is a personal choice, and if he does it on the field so what, it is not hurting anyone. It is simple if ya don't like it, then don't watch it or go to the games. Its called a choice. He is not the only one that does it, he is just somewhat more vocal about it. I fail to see the problem. We got more important issues to deal with than if someone is praying in the open or praiseing God to the public. He is not forcing it on anyone.

Just as sick as you are of him, others crave him. So because you don't like reading about him (your choice in doing so), you want it kept in the locker room. Is it Tim who is doing the press coverage? Is it Tim who is talking about locker room stuff to the media? NO. It's not Tim who is doing all the talking nor is it him who is posting in public forums. So isn't your anger directed in the wrong place? A more appropriate place to direct your anger is at the media who is finding the Tebow exploits and character THE sports news story of the past 30 years. Perhaps you prefer reading about sports figures who fail, go on drugs, lie, cheat on their spouses or assault them? Would such negative news be more to your liking than the refreshingly honest and humble accomplishments of a young man who stops and takes time for all people in need? If you are sick of him and the press coverage he gets, perhaps it's time to ask what it is that makes it so upsetting?

Frankly, I'm tired of all the political coverage. It's much more disturbing. Here we deal with professional liers, people who willfully exploit the America public for personal gain, make promises they have no intension of keeping, etc. etc. Give me a news about the actions of a genuine person or some good news instead of all the negative crap and I'd be a lot happier. Perhaps the politicians need to keep their crap in the halls of government because I'm sick and tired of hearing them and the press coverage they get? Better yet, we as individuals should have the power to censor any news we do not want to hear. Wait, we do. It's called making a choice about what we read.

 Like the way they used to tell gays to stay in the closet?

Why is be out and proud OK for homosexuals but not Christians?

BTW, I totally support homosexuals being allowed to be up front about their sexuality.

A Rabbi posted a anti-Tebow rant, expecting that Christians will be so happy when Tebow wins in the playoffs that they will burn down mosques. Pretty outrageous assumption! Luckily he did retract it later.
