At your house.

Eight months, two weeks, and three days after the trucks stop rolling?

There's enough humans living on this mountain. I've already decided a long time ago that I would do it in a heartbeat... so I'm a good number of step sahead of the rest of the food source up here. First come, first served.

Well... when you use scare terms like that you make it sound cheap... or creepy. How about biodegradable food source? It has a much softer sound to it.

I figure I can work with my neighbor and produce way more food than the 100 lbs of tainted meat that he is made of...that is why we don't do it, that is why we spare the cow for milk.

Hmmmm.

Your neighbors must be far more accomplished than mine. I can't think of too many that appear capable of producing enough food to feed even themselves, let alone "milk" for the common good.

If I thought civilization was about to collapse (I don't) I would raise goats and chickens and build a large greenhouse. I would probably move to a more temperate climate where I could have a small farm. Anyone who truly believes in imminent collapse and stays up here is loopy. The growing season is too short, the soil poor and water scarce.
