I read this same story at another source and it broke my heart.

It's only the beginning...

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

It is just like waking up from a wild weekend of excess with no money for food for the rest of the week. Our house painter is a Greek citizen on full pension and he is only in his 50's

Americans should pay attention to Greece. This is the reality of what happens when a country is poorly fiscally managed, reaches debt >100% GDP, and has no ability to print money like we do. And also read the part about drug shortages caused by government fixing low prices.

If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2

Ain't socialism swell?

This is how it ends when you depend on the government to take care of you.

Every single time.

Don't worry, we won't reach that point. Obama will take another 400k vacation and work things out for the rest of the US.

D'you really want to open up that can of worms? I mean, really?

One source: http://www.factcheck.org/2011/07/the-traveling-president/
Another: http://www.politicususa.com/en/cost-obama-christmas-vacation-bush

My intent isn't to get into an Obama vs. Bush debate. Rather, it is to show previous presidents, in general, were just as guilty of "excessive" travel and/or vacation time as Obama is, perhaps even more so in certain instances.

If you buy into the idea that Presidents are "never off the clock", vacation or not, then perhaps this might be justified. If you buy into the idea that Presidents don't deserve vacations or getaways at all, I beg to disagree. And, finally, if you really, truly believe that Obama is any better or worse than his predecessors, please do a fact check of your own. The misinformation and outright lies on this subject are readily available on that inimitable and unlimited source of information - the World Wide Web.

The crux of the matter is the ongoing tragedy in Greece. Likely it is only the beginning not just in a number of other European countries, but also in the US. When it happens it's going to be devastating to many many people. I only hope people don't assume it will never happen here.
