“I hereby certify that the debt subject to limit is within $100,000,000,000 of the limit in 31 U.S.C. 3101(b) and that further borrowing is required to meet existing commitments,” wrote President Obama on Janurary 12, 2012.
Thinking about voting for Obama again? Or maybe voting for a RINO like Romney? YOU are contributing to this problem then!
Right after they just gave him an increase in the debt cieling- Obama today is asking for another 1.8 TRILLION dollars to be borrowed so the government can keep on spending money that it (and we taxpayers) do not have - nor do we have any prospects for making the money in an economy strapped down by massive restrictions, regulations and taxes.
Obama's Government won't even consider the real problem- cutting spending, so the answer is to borrow some more.
House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-OH) office was quick to respond to the letter: “Washington’s mounting debt is a drag on our economic recovery, and this request is another reminder that the President has consistently punted on the tough choices needed to rein in the deficit and protect important programs for American seniors from going bankrupt.”
If both the House and Senate disapprove of the debt limit increase, then the country would not be allowed to borrow more money. This is unlikely to happen, but it gives the Republican-controlled House the opportunity to publicly register its disagreement with the increase. Most likely, the debt limit will be raised to $16.4 trillion on Jan. 27.
Thios won't end until we replace the corrupt big spenders with people who will actually cut the size of government. Ron Paul is the only candidate who has even talked about smaller government.
The debt-ceiling increase was already on the schedule when they did the last one. No big whoop there...
And the increase of the debt ceiling, in spite of the usual anti-tax "the sky is falling" b.s., is nothing more than than the usual hysterical teabagger talking-point.

Eeeek!
Thank you for you're typical Socialist response. You don't see a problem coming here- well keep you're head buried in that sand.....
Greece is nothing compared to what is coming our way!

1.8 trillion here, 1.8 trillion there, and pretty soon you're talking about some really big numbers.
As a fiscal conservative, I realize that the sky's not falling, but I want Washington to quit pokin it with a stick to see how secure it really is.

He just wants the debt ceiling raised, not like he will actually spend it. Kidding!
Traditionally incumbents spend like crazy to pump up the economy the six months before the election. Just standard operating procedure. And if Obama loses, he will still have passed out pork to all his supporters.

Wow, you have to even go back to Reagan to get your deflector to rise.
And of course you got my point, but chose to deflect instead. The point is that Obama called it "irresponsible" and "unpatriotic" when Bush did it, but now Obama goes ahead and raises the debt ceiling far more than Bush ever did. How is that not hypocritical? Please show us your video of Reagan calling it unpatriotic to raise the debt before he raised the debt. :pop
