I may vote for Mittens, but I might also go 3rd Party with Gary Johnson. Probably depends on how close Colorado is in 2012.

Actually LJ, the jobs only started coming back when Pelosi and the other do nothing but spend Dem congressmen got pink slips courtesy of the TEA Party.

The are other ways to increase hiring like slowing down regulation and extending the Bush tax cuts like President Obama supported.

Thought this was a good article about how private equity firms work. It can be good or bad, depends on the deal. Hertz was one example of successful company spin-off.

edit- oh never mind, they shortened the article. Dang WSJ

Have there been some successes with private equity firms? Undoubtedly.

But let's get past the talking point in the commercials that "they're only interested in turning companies around." Hogwash. They're interested in profits...period. If that means that they can get more by leveraging the hell out of a company, plundering the retirement funds, laying off people, selling off the assets and walking away from the carcass with 900% return on their investment while destroying tens of thousands of jobs...then that's what they'll do.

If they get lucky, and find a way to make more by turning it around, then that's what they'll do. Job creation? Notice how they don't answer the question, "In which country?"

The name of the game is lining their own pockets to the max... Everything else is secondary...and employees-be-damned.

...I love this line from Romney's speech this morning, "...and by the way, I care about the poor..." I'm so glad he had that afterthought... Perhaps he can work that in between meetings.

Thanks..I know how these firms work. It's the people running them that determines the outcome.
