Obama to tie up traffic for Boulder campaign speech

Obama To Speak At CU; Motorcade To Affect Commute

Looks like traffic jams and road closures at 5pm and again at 8am tomorrow, all for Obama's student loan speech in Boulder. Go Obama! 2012 campaign in full swing. Don't mind us little people trying to get home from work.

Roads will close down around 5:15 p.m. and stay closed until after the motorcade passes through.

"I-225 will be closed for the motorcade, as well as I-70 and Colorado Boulevard if it goes that way and that will affect the afternoon rush. And all the roads that cross Colorado Boulevard, between I-70 and City Park, will be closed as if it were a river and will only reopen after the motorcade is past,"

Cool, I love when liberals are flipping Obama the bird. What does it cost per plate for the fundraising dinner? $2500 each?

Dang... I can't remember all of the appearances that other presidents made--(Bush included)--that didn't tie up traffic.

Perhaps you could provide us with a link that shows us where that might have happened?

I'll be just as critical of Repubs or anyone else who shuts down rush hour traffic, especially for non-official business that is all campaign fluff.

Obama should just tel-conference the speech to a video screen, probably save a lot of energy and CO2. And the secret service wouldn't get in trouble wandering around east Colfax tonite. :)

But that would give Obama much more free time and he may have to do some work.

Even worse than Presidents is when they shut down things for the VP. Who cares about that bucket of warm spit?

I remember when I used to work near LAX in LA and a motorcade stopped traffic on my way to work. I could see in the limo and it was Price Charles and Princess Diana. They only held up traffic for about a minute. I'd hate to live in NYC, where traffic probably gets stopped somewhere at least once a day.

Right. I was just down at the Cherry Cricket having dinner and they have a 2 block radius around the Marriott across the street blocked off for the arrival of President Obama. We were done eating before he showed up.
