I complained, especially when it shut down highways during rush hour.
Near my workplace, we would get Cheney shutting down things. totally bottlenecked the whole area.

Thank you for admitting that Obama was on a campaign tour with college students. Yes, it ticks me off when government employees use our resources to campaign - including Bush. Go pound sand - they are SPENDING MY MONEY..
But remember, he is King Obuma, he answers to no one. He can campaign all he wants on our dime.
Nice to see you back RT

Everything I've read indicates the re-election campaigns reimburse the government when incumbents use AF One for campaigning. And what's the alternative? The president of the United States has to be able to take off at a moment's notice and be in touch to make sure the government runs smoothly in times of crisis, should the situation arise, such as with 9/11.
I just accept the fact incumbent presidents have to campaign and that they must remain close to their mobile command center (or to the secret underground doomsday bunker under DIA). :Whistle
Even Obama's campaign doesn't raise that kind of cash Raees. It isn't just AF1, it's the AF1 backup that goes along with it, the multitude of C130's transporting "The Beast" and all the other support vehicles. Its the advance teams who like the company of hookers in the evenings, the counter-snipers that take up positions along the route, the SS agents who maintain security in the venue the president will be speaking for a minimum of 24 hours in advance of that speech, the president's staff, the first lady's staff and all the rest of it that goes along with the president deciding to make a single campaign stop at a college in the middle of the union and stay overnight for a fundraiser before traveling back to DC the next day.
AF1 alone costs $181K per hour.........you really think Obama's campaign is picking that up for a 24 hour trip?
Behind Obama’s Definition of Wealth and Paying Off Student Loans
President Obama told students at the University of North Carolina Tuesday that he knows what it is like to struggle with student loan debt because he and his wife didn’t pay off their student loans until eight years ago.
Here’s a rundown of the president’s income, according to his tax returns, in the years before he paid off his student loans:
2004: $207,647
2003: $238,327
2002: $259,394
2001: $272,759
2000: $240,505

First lady Michelle Obama's 2010 trip to Spain cost taxpayers nearly $470,000, according to a conservative watchdog group that obtained Secret Service records from the overseas excursion.
That trip, which the first lady took with her younger daughter Sasha, drew widespread criticism at the time -- as the visuals of the first lady in an elegant Mediterranean setting clashed with the still-struggling U.S. economy.
Judicial Watch, which filed a Freedom of Information Act request, claimed Thursday that documents show the trip cost at least $467,585.
Those costs are split between Secret Service expenses and expenses for the flight and flight crew.
