Because 522,000 more people gave up looking for work. I wonder if THIS will be the "recovery summer" Biden promised a few summers ago?

Ima goin fishing to ponder it now.

...but Obama created more jobs than "W"...

But still not enough for our young people, or old people, or men in construction. The only increase in employment is goverment workers.

I hate the politics of the unemployment rate. They should just report actual people of working age not working. Just because people stop looking for work doesn't mean they aren't unemployed.

Our biz reports show this...

April added 115,00 net jobs compared to a revised 154,00 in March and 259,000 in February. The unemployment rate crept down to 8.1%, the lowest in about three years; however, the labor force participation rate has shrunk.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

Smallest labor force in 30 years...our population must be shrinking drastically right?

Not in Italy. I spent a little over 9 dollars a gallon for unleaded while I was just there. Maybe Italy needs to ask Obama how he lowered gas prices?

Why on earth would you have to buy gas in Italy? You didn't RENT a car, did you?

What an idiot.

BTW the price of gas in Europe has always been much higher than in the U.S. That's why they drive small cars but mostly use public transportation, which is much better than here in the U.S.

Hey slug-face... I rented a car because I was visiting multiple places in the Tuscany countryside that's not readily accessible by public transportation. What the F**K would you have done... farted out your face and blown yourself all around the country? Talk about idiot.

Stocks tumbled more than 1 percent across the board Friday, after a weaker-than-expected government jobs report underscored worries over the strength of the economic recovery.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq are on pace for their biggest weekly drop since mid-December.
