Actually it is the truth, check the facts. According to Merriam Webster, the definition of a hillbilly is:
a person from a backwoods area. If you check the voting in 2008, those in the West Virginia backwoods area tended to vote against President Obama, even though they identified themselves as Democrats.

I did not mention bigotry as an underlying motivation for the vote against President Obama.
