Obama Blasts Obama's Evasive Stance On Gay Marriage

Well, what do ya know. I didn't think he would, it seemed to be a risky move and we heard from one of the conservative prognosticators on this board that he wouldn't do it till after the election. But I am often surprised by Obama's guts and willingness to look at all sides of an issue and make the difficult decisions even if it might hurt him.

Anyone know what Romney's position is on this issue today?

I'm all for gay marriages but Obama's flip-flop won't get my vote. I think there is much more important issues at stake than gay marriages. But I don't want to hear another dig at Romney for flip-flopping on his past statements.

Apparently North Carolina conservatives want a government that's only just big enough to fit in everyone's bedroom. Well, maybe not everyone's bedroom, you can still marry your cousin.
Only a first cousin, but definitely not a double first cousin (which would be just plain immoral. I mean, jeez.)

Why? If it is OK for conservatives to point out Obama's changing his mind why can't liberals point out the same with Romney? Double standard?

Were or when have the GOP told you what you can do in the bedroom. You wrongly equate gay rights issues to privacy issues. No one has stopped any consenting adults from having whatever sexual arrangements in their bedrooms.

The president stressed that this is a personal position, and that he still supports the concept of states deciding the issue on their own. But he said he’s confident that more Americans will grow comfortable with gays and lesbians getting married, citing his own daughters’ comfort with the concept.

Well, there used to be sodomy laws....but I have to agree with the OP. Gay marriage isn't a privacy issue, it is a civil rights issue.

 to Obama for making the politically difficult call. And I have to disagree with LJ, this will lose him votes with minorities and older people. He might get some homosexual Republicans to vote for him for taking this new stance.

You won't find me pointing out Romney's flip flops.
