Back on topic. NPR was actually expressing concerns about this the other morning. At what level do you stop using drones on suspected AQ types? Kingpins? Any guy with a gun in Afghanistan or Pakistan. The drone war is pretty bloodless for the US but has severly damaged relations between Pakistan and the US.
Imagine if Mexico was flying predator drones into Arizona and New Mexico targeting Americans smuggling guns across the border. Think we would be a little upset?

I just think it's classic that we get al outraged over pouring water over a terrorist's face and scaring the hell out of him, but we could just vaporize the same terrorist with a joystick and that's somehow being more civilized. Not only is it less civilized, but we also get ZERO information from the scumbags.
To me this is like the casualness that some feel about aborting a child. If the baby was pulled out first, then bashed over the head, it wouldn't be so popular as when the killing is done inside the woman...out of sight, out of mind.
I suppose this is all just human morality "progressing" or "evolving" over time.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Great point.
One thing I never understood, chemical and biological weapons are illegal but high explosive is legal in war?
Pound for pound, the high explosive is going to do a lot more damage.

Think? Chemical and biological weapons kill people... and can spread to people who we don't want to kill. An explosive, while it does kill people, it is more targeted and localized... and it does permanent damage to facilities that are used in the carrying out of warfare.
War is not civilized... period. The only purpose is to blow things up, kill people and win.

Chemical & biological weapons killing untargeted people? And that might be the biggest reason they are banned. Not to save innocents as Twin believes, but to protect your own troops.
Germany used gas in WWI on both the Eastern & Western Front, but found it much more useful against the Russians because they didn't have the proper equipment and the prevailing winds went torward thier lines.
Sucks to launch a gas attack and have it blow back to your lines.
Sidebar: It appears the Israelis have launched a new cyberwar against Iran (Flame), but it is attacking other countries, including Israel itself. Russia and other countries are looking into banning cyberwarfare, and this could be the reason, don't want those created viruses to hit your systems too.
