LJ is NOT for "illegals" voting... But until you PROVE EVERY ONE of the 180,000 being purged is an "illegal", you're a liar, and the DoJ is going to put a stop to it.
And that's exactly what Florida was trying to do... until Holder stopped them. This was an ongoing process and it wasn't finished. I hope they get to finish it.
DOJ has no business telling a state how to handle it's voter registration process- and if a state finds that "NON-citizens" are registered- it has every right to remedy the situation.
It is not lawful for a NON-citizen to vote in this country- that means it's against the law LJ.
The state does not have the burden of proof- the citizens have the burden of proving that they are eligible to vote.
Florida has every right to verify that it's voter base is legally entitled to vote- especially when the problem appears to be so massive- 179,000 potential people who have no right to vote at all are apperantly registered to vote.
Americans have the right to a non-fradulent electorate- we deserve clean elections- with only those people who are lawfully entitled to vote.
Until you PROVE EVERY ONE of the 180,000 being purged is an "illegal", you're a liar, and the DoJ is going to put a stop to it. And THEN I'll feel better.
Voting is a RIGHT..NOT a privilege. When morons like Scott throw up barriers to prevent it, they're messing with constitutional rights.
I'll be waiting for that PROOF.
Which part of that are you having trouble understanding?

How do you go through a list of possible illegitimate voters registration to check for their legal citizenship status without... well... going through the list? This is some stupid liberals gotcha... common sense and logic is not a liberals strong point.
This is a classic case of assuming you are guilty before proving you are innocent. You don't take people off the registration rolls until you can show they shouldn't be on that list. Instead, Florida removed these people and then those who were removed have to prove they belong on the registered list. This was the pushback on AZ's1070 ...if you can't immediately prove to a police officer that you are a citizen you can be carted off to jail. And you get to stay there till someone can prove your citizenship....fortunately that part of the law is tangled up in the courts. As well it should be, along with FL's actions. In this country you are innocent till proven guilty........pure and simple. And, you don't have to be a citizen to have those rights here.

They did nothing of the sort. They compare the records to Motor Vehicle records and other state records first.

really? so if you don't have a driver's license you can't vote?
These people who are in danger of being removed from the list....how did they get to register in the first place? If Florida does such a shoddy job registering voters and not vetting them, they have more problems than 180,000 people on the rolls they aren't sure of. Time to clean house in FL? And, why are they doing this now instead of within the federal time limit for such changes? Isn't Florida subject to the same laws as the rest of the states?

Are you serious? Florida is the gold standard for an inept voting system..Bush/Gore ring any bells?
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

So we agree. Time to clean house. Florida needs to get all it's rolls in order... and then purge the illegals.
