Romney tax plan would save him $5 million.

I was cleaning old stuff out of my office last week including my old tax code books....they are big, with tiny print, and don't make sense even to the teams of tax lawyers who supposedly wrote them. Revisions of our tax code is LONG overdue, and yes, I favor a graduated tax with fewer brackets and minimal deductions/credits. I think there will always be some. Right now, and I am basing this on my experience working with taxes for both individuals and businesses, the code is heavily weighted to favor the wealthy......that's just the way it has evolved. Those with the most influence and the best CPAs get the biggest breaks.

Or CPA's that tend to read the small print and capitalize on the reading.
Even IRS so called "experts" cannot decifer the codes.

Good point...maybe you should just ignore me. But no, I don't think you will. You have some kind of vendetta going on against LJ and now have decided to include me in your campaign of hate.

Don't let the bitterness eat you up bill. It will hurt you far more than the those you target. FWIW, I'm sorry things have developed this way.....we used to be able to discuss issues with civility if not agreement. Obviously you think this is my issue...so be it. I was serious when I posted that I thought you had changed.

If you want to get in the middle and back up that old troll, so be it. She makes obnoxious blanket statements about conservatives in about 90% of her posts and you are catching up. She's called me a racist directly without any evidence, while at the same time, she is a proud religious bigot.

I'd be perfectly fine discussing anything with you civilly, but if you stand near the troll, you will get some shit on you. .

archer wrote: Will Romney create jobs with his extra $5 million? I seriously doubt it. More likely it will end up in Switzerland or the Cayman Islands.

Why do you seriously doubt it? That is exactly what he did with his capital when he was in the private sector - invested it into companies - successfully - which is why he is earning so much money today. The reason some of his capital ended up in Switzerland or the Cayman Islands has more to do with the punishing level of taxation that exists in this union than anything else. If the taxation policies here were comparable to those where the money is currently sheltered, there would be no reason to shelter the money there instead of here, right?

I, personally, have never been hired to work for a company owned by a poor person. Every company that I was hired to work for was owned by someone with a fair amount of assets already. Capital in excess of what one needs is either saved or invested. The more excess capital one has, the more likely it is to be invested instead of saved in the hopes of generating more capital that can be invested. Those with the most excess capital are generally also the ones who, by and large, are more generous with their charitable contributions.

PrintSmith, yes I have been hired by a company owned by someone who would be classified as a poor person, at least when they started the business. With startup costs, and wages, and inventory, many many small businesses are owned by people who are technically poor until they either make it, or fail. In fact 98% of small businesses make less than $250,000/year for their owners. ( http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter ... obamas-ta/ )
Why not concentrate our tax reduction efforts on those people rather than the very wealthy? Why not give them lower cost healthcare and no fear of being denied for health care so more middle class people can start small businesses? They employ half of all private sector employees, and represent 99.7% of all employers. ( http://web.sba.gov/faqs/faqindex.cfm?areaID=24 )

Why the emphasis by the conservatives on the wealthy "job creators" and not on the small business owner who makes middle class and lower middle class income?

edited to add......when I started my own business I had little but a good idea and some help from my friends....it took time while I built that business and my daughter and I struggled to get by (thus the two other jobs). I surely could have used some relief, especially on health insurance.......it seemed to eat up a huge portion of the income from the business.

It's the standard GOP delusion that somehow some of that wealth will trickle down to them. It has ever been so, and they continue to settle for whatever crumbs they can get from the table of the very-rich. (And somehow they think they need to trash everyone else who is low-and-middle class in order to make themselves feel better.)

Bill, whatever you feel you have received in attacks from LJ, or me, you have given back in spades. Your side makes as many, if not more, obnoxious blanket statements about liberals as you claim we have about conservatives. The whole guilt by association idea goes both ways.....I have, in the past, tried not to lump you, or fred, or a few others in with the trolls on your side, but you sure are making that hard. You condemn LJ out of one side of your mouth, then cheer the same behavior from your own side out of the other. You can't take the high road when you are wallowing in the swamp.

Ask the people of Africa if the wealth of Bill Gates & Warren Buffet has trickled down to them. The infant mortality rate is the lowest since they have kept records. Insecticide treated mosquito netting and vaccine programs funded by the rich in America and other developed nations is making a big difference to these people.
So you can put away your talking point. But first clean it up, it is looking both dusty and moldy.
