You and I don't agree much, but I do agree with this. Military service is not for everyone. Personally I believe it takes a special individual to make that kind of commitment.

Yep I also believe everyone is entitled to thier opinions about everything. Its all good.

On one hand LJ oppsed all the wars/poice actions. On the other she bitches about a presidential candidate that dodn't serve.

And you? Do you approve of avoiding the draft or military service? Or only if you are a Republican...Democrats should always serve.

During the draft all/anyone.
I was drafted, didn't get a deferment.
Now of course it is all voluntary so...

After WWII it was prett impossible to get elected without having served. Now 1% of Americans serve. But I am seeing a lot of veterans run for office these days.

After WWII it has pretty impossible to find someone who hadn't served. Big difference.

Maybe Barry should open a special investigative committee to get the "real" scoop on Romney's draft dodging? He could start by recanting his own exemplary service to the United States of America. What are the medals called that are awarded in recognition of an individual's record for smoking massive amounts of dope and snorting pounds of blow during the years they were eligible to enlist or accept a commission?
