Anyway, you are right that all Americans should protest loss of freedoms more. Instead we have a bunch of wimps in this country promoting class warfare and demanding more entitlements and free stuff from Uncle Sam. LOL
If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2
Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.

There is a class war in this country. They're at war against us, you didn't notice?

Not sure who "they" are, but I'd like to see who was all worked up. We should be pretty used to silly laws by now, especially in the NE and West coast.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
First off you are off on a few things. Folks are concerned about many things the govt does (see airport security). Lefties and righties both oppose freedom, righties with wanting to restrict freedom in old/traditional ways and lefties fighting against freedom with new/progressive restrictions.
But think about it, even though there are many other issues, it's the slippery slope on one of our most fundamental, even if not fully codified, rights and needs....and we are in a world of lube.
Buying a soda is about your ability to TRADE. You need to TRADE far more than you need the govt and its courts of process. In fact you could live for some time or forever without govt/courts, you will likely not make it through the week without trade. Freedom of trade between two individuals is a VERY big deal, I guess now that I think about it, even bigger than your rights in court, they are your rights before you go do court. Restricting this to any extent can have all of the same consequences as making it illegal to own certain things, another huge affront on your individual rights with astronomical financial and human rights consequences (these are big right? You cannot design the perfect trade before hand, the two parties trading decide on the perfect trade at the moment they make the trade.) We really need just enough govt to enforce free trade and limit the use of force. Otherwise it is ALL fluff - does that cover enough other topics besides soda bans.
Freedom means you're the decider, that simple. Has anyone actually ever met someone who you feel should have more of a say over your life than you? If the answer is yes, then elect them.
I have a parting q, do you think any soda vendors in NYC will be REAL patriots and continue selling big sodas?
