They have a theremin you can use at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix. I had heard of them, and knew what they sounded like, but actually getting to try one was really fun. I envy you having one to play (I was very tempted to purchase one from the museum store ). It not only is an art to play it, but watching some one play it really is intriguing.

If you are ever in Phoenix the Musical Instrument Museum is a must see....but after several visits I still haven't seen even half of it.

I actually just got this one last week. I've had "toy" ones, not very refined, tinny, high pitched sound, difficult as hell to tune or play. This is a professional one but was still a good price. It was 200.00. The high end ones run about 400-600. I don't play in a band anymore (I'm a keyboard player), so I don't tend to spend large sums of money on instruments that I'm really not going to use except at home. But I was tired of the "toys" and I knew I had to spend a few bigger bucks if I wanted a Theremin that was manageable and actually playable.

I can already knock out some tunes on it... I have almost perfect pitch, so that help immensely when playing a Theremin.

He's my father. That's why I'm an atheist.
