That didn't keep them from cynically choosing an empty-suit like Palin before...Why should it be different now?

Maybe they figure if a completely inexperienced and inept politician can become prez on the dem side, maybe what the public wants is inexperience!

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

I think Bush chose Cheney because his dad told him to and that's why Bush II ended up with a lot of guys from the Bush the Elder administration.

There is even a theory that George W. killed JFK Jr. Skull and Bones and all that...

Cheney? It takes a long time to learn how Washington runs and it only makes sense to hire people that already have experience. One of the reasons Carter had such issues was he brought as many of his people as he could. Obama hired some Clintonistas but also chose a lot of people with as little experience as himself.

Even though the choice of Vice President hardly ever affects the vote.

It affected the vote last time....negatively.

If a nominee for VP is not born on U.S. soil or U.S. holdings to two U.S. citizens that person is not qualified to be VP or POTUS. Or if he has claimed, in the past, to be of foreign citizenship, for whatever purpose, is not qualified for the offices of VP or POTUS. It is not hard to understand.

Those who keep dragging up unknown politicians in an attempt to infer that conservatives will look the other way if it is their guy are only troublemakers trying to obscure the fact that the Obama is not qualified to hold the office of POTUS.

Gee, I didn't realize that Bobby Jindal and Marco Rubio were "unknown politicians"... Personally, that's MY take on them, but I didn't realize you agreed.

Obama "not qualified"? Yeah, in your not-so-relevant opinion I guess... Apparently, 52% of Americans thought different...(and likely will again).

LJ, we shall see if Obama gets the nod in November. But I fully agree with you that Jindal and Rubio (not so much lately) are unknown politicians.

But McCain would still have lost no matter who he chose...
