Mitt outsourced 2002 Olympic Uniforms

So the king of outsourcing even used the taxpayer's funding to purchase the 2002 US Olympic uniforms from Myramar to support the military dictatorship there.

Maybe he can "retroactively" change that fact as well.

Romney hasn't weighed in on this China "outrage" because it's idiotic and not worth wasting a breath compared to the economic disaster that's building in this country.

If you forced every man and woman in Congress and in the White House to remove every article of clothing not made in the USA, what would that look like?

Just another worthless shiny object to deflect from the real issues

Do you have anything in your house that you have "outsourced" by purchasing from manufacturers who produce and assemble their products in China? Or do you live in a barrow. What a schmoo.

I do not use the taxpayer's funds to purchase from offshore military dictatorships that use forced labor and enslave their own people in order to celebrate the patriotic athletes participating on behalf of our country.

One correction, the USA Olympic team is not supported by taxpayers. Its funding comes from private donations. The funding they save on uniforms can instead be spent on training and equipment to better prepare our athletes.

But it would be nice to see a US manufacturer/designer offer to give the Olympic athletes new American made uniforms free just for the publicity. Nike?

Are there any onshore military dictatorships?

I guess I never realized that China was a part of the Pacific Ocean... I have been to Hong Kong a couple of times and I'm here to tell you, that island was real land not a big puddle back in the 1970/80's when I visited. Of course the Chinese are cleaver folks and there is no shortage of people so now that China has possession of Hong Kong maybe they sunk Hong Kong so it would look more like main land China.

BTW, next time you buy a Nike product have a look at the tag, generally not made in the USA. China and South Korea are much cheaper places to do business and there aren't any pesky OSHA or EPA officials hanging around telling businesses how to operate within the approved guidelines and regulations. I'm not even going to bring up the added complications labor unions bring to the game.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I have more of a problem with the Ralph Lauren Polo logo being bigger than the U.S. Olympic team patch.

Actually in 2002, the largest source of "donations" came from the US taxpayers. Mitt convinced congress to give the largest amount of funding for an olympics in history, at least $1.3 billion. http://usgovinfo.about.com/library/weekly/aa092400b.htm

This was more than double the amount spent on any other olympics.
