Obama Loves Olympians & Supports Tea Party Favorite Rubio

Soulshiner,Missy cant do endorsements because she wants to compete another year for her high school, and then for whatever college she attends. There is no restriction for Olympic athletes now but there used to be.

The title of this thread is just one more example of how certain conservatives here will vilify Obama for anything they can, it doesn't have to be true.

Sen. Marco Rubio is offering the Fab Five, Missy Franklin, Ryan Lochte and all the other American Olympic medalists more than just a pat on the back. He’s trying to keep the IRS off their backs.

Rubio (R-Fla.) introduced today The Olympic Tax Elimination Act, which would exempt U.S. Olympic medal winners from paying taxes on their medals. Olympians receive honorariums in the form of cash payments of $25,000 for gold, $15,000 for silver and $10,000 for bronze, which the IRS currently taxes.

Seems like the least we could do for these impressive young Americans.

At least someone in Gubment has our Olympic Champions interests in mind. Enforcing taxes on Olympic medal winners is just one more page in this administration's tax and spend philosophy. If you have wealth you didn't earn it, if you have a successful business you didn't build it. Shut up and hand over your cash.

Post a link proving this was President Obama's doing. If you don't, you look like a complete idiot.

I don't think the thread topic was really meant to be taken seriously, but you may disagree.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Where do you want me to start?! How about Obamacare, there's a great example of tax and spend. What about the failed stimulus bill? Another example of Gubment spending that accomplished nothing. Let's move on to taxing everyone who makes more than $250K more than the rest of the citizens of the nation. I'm not a Doctor and I don't play one on TV but I can suggest a cure for your Rectal-Crainial inversion, bend over, reach up you back end and pull until you hear a popping sound and you can see daylight again.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

You can't even stay on your own thread's topic and post a link verifying your own thread title. Idiot.

I am curious about this comment, by academic prizes do you mean something like the Nobel prize or something as simple but potentially large) as an academic grant?

You aren't exactly on target yourself. I'm not the OP in case you didn't notice. I guess you'd rather that those who have wealth surrender it to the commune instead of enjoying what they earned. Socialist.

Barack's inaction on the onerous Olympic taxes proves he is jealous and hateful to people who earn medals. He has had four years to fix this issue and he has done nothing but golf and raise money so that he can tax more olympians in the next four years.

"You didn't earn that medal" right? The guy who slept through morning swim practice has as much right to the gold as Michael Phelps, right?
