There's a small (about 7% of tea-party members admit to racist leanings) element of racism in the Tea Party.
However, that proportion has never been compared to overall trends (i.e. - I doubt the figure is all that different - from say
Southern Democrats).
I think critics of the Tea Party movement have over-stated the role of race (I think it's self-interest).
A May, 2010 poll by ABC concludes:
Views on the extent of racism as a problem, and views on Obama’s efforts on behalf of African-Americans, are not significant predictors of support for the Tea Party movement.
To be fair - the data do suggest that people with strong race-based opinions are slightly more Republican than Democrat - but the difference is only slight --- and party membership is much more reliably predicted by socio-economic status. The differences aren't really significant enough to assert that race and/or racism is a driving force.
I just don't think you can calculate racists by polls. If you want to see what a racist sounds like, watch Sharpton on MSNBC, he's a shining example and seems to be proud of it.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Yeah, ah
I don't live here like you do, I actually have something called "a life"...
Sure... that's why you have more then twice the amount of posts than LOL, and you both joined 285 Bound one day apart. What LOL may make up in hours on line, you make it up in the most stupid posts per second.

The first step is admitting you have a problem Joe...
Here's what you do..Get a few months off from work on top of your accumiliated vacation time and go to the South Pacific, somewhere in French Polynesia. Go to a place where theres no tv, radio or internet. Spend you days loving up your girlfriend, reading, fishing, swiming and sleeping.. It's gonna suck at first but after a month it becomes what you want to do for the rest of your life. When you come back an look at the message board it's going to look absurd, like some sort of twisted freak show but don't worry, in a month or so it will appear somewhat normal again.
