By SEN. SCOTT BROWN
While I applaud Ryan for getting the conversation started, I cannot support his specific plan — and therefore will vote “no” on his budget.
Why can’t I go along with the Ryan Medicare plan?
First, I fear that as health inflation rises, the cost of private plans will outgrow the government premium support— and the elderly will be forced to pay ever higher deductibles and co-pays. Protecting those who have been counting on the current system their entire adult lives should be the key principle of reform.
Second, Medicare has already taken significant cuts to help pay for Obama’s health care plan. The president and Congress cut a half trillion dollars to the private side of Medicare — meaning seniors are at risk of losing their Medicare Advantage coverage.
Another key principle is that seniors should not have to bear a disproportionate burden. But that doesn’t mean we do nothing. If Medicare is to survive for current beneficiaries and future generations, we must act. The sooner Congress addresses this, the less painful it is likely to be — but more difficult adjustments will be required if we delay.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/2 ... 17077.htmlDenny Rehberg, GOP Lawmaker, Campaigns Against Paul Ryan Budget (VIDEO)
It's a familiar refrain from Democrats that the federal budget plan from Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) would hurt seniors, but now a Republican Senate candidate is making the same claim in a new ad, paid for by Republicans.
The ad features Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-Mont.), who is challenging Sen. Jon Tester, a conservative Democrat who has cast himself as strongly independent. The spot's sponsors have bought $200,000 of airtime to run it in Montana.
"Denny Rehberg is different, an independent thinker," says the ad, before ticking off the ways that Rehberg is different.
One of those ways takes a telling shot at the House GOP budget resolution that would create a voucher plan for Medicare: "Rehberg refused to support a Republican budget plan that could harm the Medicare program so many of Montana's seniors rely on."
The ad was paid for by the Montana Republican Party, which received $50,000 of the $143,000 it raised in April and May from the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
A spokesman for Richard Tisei, who is trying to unseat Democratic Rep. John Tierney in Massachusetts, also doubled down on his candidate’s opposition to the Ryan plan Monday.
“Like Simpson-Bowles, Richard said [the Ryan plan] is a good start,” Tisei spokesman Paul Moore told HuffPost. “Richard doesn't agree with certain aspects of it,” adding that the budget may not be as clear and stark as everyone wants.
The list of Republicans seeking to distance themselves from the Ryan budget keeps growing.
Linda McMahon’s campaign said in a statement that the Senate candidate from Connecticut “will never support a budget that cuts Medicare, after her Democratic opponent Rep. Chris Murphy posed the question “Mitt Romney Picks Paul Ryan – Does Linda McMahon?”

Well, dang... How embarrassing. Can't even get the GOP senator to drink the Kool-Aid of the VP nominee... Kind of hangs it around both Romney's and Ryan's neck, don't it...
THANK YOU, ROMNEY, FOR THE GIFT OF PAUL RYAN!!!! :woo hoo:

Well golly gee whiz - what's a remark about a plan that has since been amended doing being represented as a current criticism? Could it be that SFB is attempting to deceive yet again by doing so, or is she just so out of touch after her long stay in the echo chamber that she's lost all track of time and actually thinks this is a current piece? Inquiring minds want to know . . . . .Democracy4Sale wrote:

And yet another offensive racist remark.FredHayek wrote: Actually, I totally understand why Scott Brown would prefer being a RINO Senator in office over being replaced by that Indian Squaw(D) who is running against him. To appeal to Massachussets voters, he has to show a more moderate side.
And I honestly think he is more of a liberal Republican. Of course, the Massachussets Dem Party is probably portraying him to the right of Ron Paul.
