Sorry to hear the Obama Jobs Bill is still being held up in the obstructionist Senate, who will filibuster anything that moves.

Wait, Obama can change decades of immigration precedent with his dream act by allowing young illegals to work in the US without congressional approval, but it is all the Senate's fault on this economy?

Yes... It is the Senate's fault on obstructing the Jobs Act which would help the employment situation.

Enjoy your extrapolation.

Couldn't agree with you more SFB - Harry Reid and the Democrats in the Senate are largely responsible for legislation which could assist in the union getting back on its feet that has been passed by the other arm of the legislature being tabled and awaiting action.

I thought the President couldn't write legislation?

Decades of immigration precedent? Oh, do you mean the precedent set by President Ronald Regan?

In 1986, Ronald Reagan signed a sweeping immigration reform bill into law. It was sold as a crackdown: There would be tighter security at the Mexican border, and employers would face strict penalties for hiring undocumented workers.

But the bill also made any immigrant who'd entered the country before 1982 eligible for amnesty -- a word not usually associated with the father of modern conservatism.

Difference being, and it is an exceptionally noteworthy one, that the Congress passed legislation which Reagan signed. The current Congress passed no such legislation - Obama decided to act in the absence of having legislation sent to him by the Congress and in fact acted after the Congress refused to pass legislation which contained such provisions. Reagan respected the separation of powers with his actions, Obama has ignored them and decided to act as both the legislative and executive branch of the government by his.
