"So that forcible rape language meant nothing to you at the time?” Delano asked.

“Rape is rape and there’s no splitting hairs over rape,” Ryan said.

31 states currently allow the rapist to seek to have or share custody of any child of theirs conceived in rape.

Now, all they have to do is make it a crime to use the day after pill so that the victim who was raped is forced to carry the fetus to childbirth and they'll be in line with the Republican platform.

Actually, no...

“Faithful to the ‘self-evident’ truths enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed,” reads the party’s draft platform language. “We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and endorse legislation to make clear that the 14th Amendment's protections apply to unborn children.”

Delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., next week will vote on the resolution. Republican officials say it will almost certainly pass, according to CNN.

The platform is a fetal-personhood policy, and that precludes IUD's, morning-after pills, RU-486, and anything else that prevents pregnancy by interrupting the development of the fertilized egg.

With all due respect, the ones with their heads up their collective arses are the wacko GOP pro-life zealots.

He can't pull it out... been there way too long.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

The platform is just wishful thinking. Abortion won't be banned in our lifetime. Although I have noticed as the population ages, support for abortion has decreased.

Actually, Navyco7, it IS the Republican Party Platform to ban abortion in all cases.

The uproar over Todd Akin has hit a new flash point: the Republican Party platform, which currently calls for a constitutional amendment to ban abortion in all cases, ruling out the exceptions for rape and incest that Mitt Romney supports. Republican Party officials insist that it’s a meaningful distinction. ”This is the platform of the Republican Party; it’s not the platform of Mitt Romney,” RNC chair Reince Priebus said on MSNBC. Democrats, however, insist that the official platform is representative of the entire party, which Romney would lead as president.

You're the one who needs to pull his head out of his arse, since you don't even seem to know what your own party platform is.
