Argue with an empty room? You mean, like Clint Eastwood? It's easy to talk to a chair that doesn't talk back. The empty chair interview - often done by both sides.

Spelling not withstanding, the ad is false and BS. Will we hear from the right about the lie and those who put it out there and how it was wrong? Or will you guys just keep nailing LJ for thinking it was a different Kerry? What's more important here?

Anything to deflect from the truth of the doctored ad and the lies that are being aired daily... Imagine my surprise...

Tell me SS, what in the OP is a lie? A Democrat Senator, who voted in favor of the ACA after securing the Cornhusker Kickback in exchange for his vote, said to a group of constituents that he will stop offering his employees health insurance as a benefit and pay the fine instead. The thread isn't about what former embarrassment John Kerry's position is, nor an ad by Rove's independent PAC. It's about what Senator Kerrey of Nebraska said about the ACA, which none of the collectivists here seem to want to address or discuss for some strange and unknown reason. How's about we talk about the original topic instead of following the tangent manufactured in a rather lame attempt to avoid discussing it?

Not withstanding the topic has nothing to do with this ad. The article I linked to is dated 09-07-2012 and deals with very current remarks from Kerrey about Obamacare.

Why don't you deal with what's more important here... the article I linked to.

Umm, Bob Kerrey retired from the Senate in 2000. I seriously doubt that he cast ANY vote yea or nay. LJ's post gives you all a news story that quotes Bob Kerrey himself and shows that this cut up ad is 100% false. SO, the ad itself is a LIE. That is the to the very heart of the OP.

Go ahead and discuss how the Karl Rove ad is or isn't complete bullshit. How about we talk about THAT?

You must be smoking dog poop in that pipe of yours. I didn't post any ad. My topic was not about any ad. And I haven't commented on that ad. Bob Kerrey is RUNNING for the US Senate as a Democrat in the upcoming elections. My topic, and the article I linked to is about his opinion on the ACA.

Democratic Senate candidate Bob Kerrey said Thursday that he hates the employer mandate in the Affordable Care Act and that his own businesses might drop employee insurance and pay the federal fine for doing so if the mandate goes into effect in 2014.

So... you're effort to deflect looks stupid. Why don't you discuss the topic at hand... Democrat Bob Kerrey running for the US Senate with an anti-ACA platform.

Do shouldn't have to spell this out for you.

You are at least partially correct SS - it wasn't Kerrey who secured the Cornhusker Kickback bribe front Obama in order to vote for the ACA - that was Nelson, who succeeded him in the Senate. The Democrats are recycling Kerrey in a bid to hold onto the seat a.d retain control of the Senate in 2012, and Kerrey has to run on a platform of opposing at least parts of the ACA to have a hope of winning. Were he to embrace it in its entirety the Democrats would lose that seat for sure. The error was mine. Right party, right State, wrong Senator.

Still - the comments from Kerrey are illuminating with regards to the future of employer provided health care within the union as a result of the ACA unless something is done to repeal it. Employers like Kerrey will be opting to pay the tax to lower their labor costs and the cost of subsidizing insurance premiums for those earning up to 400% of the poverty level is going to balloon the deficit beyond its current unsustainable levels that we've seen for the last 4 years.

Even if the Democrats manage to retain the Nebraska seat in the Senate with a Kerrey victory, can they be assured he won't join the Republican effort to repeal the ACA given his comments on it?
