Obama Convention Bounce Confirmed In Latest Tracking Polls

WASHINGTON -- Daily tracking polls published over the weekend show President Barack Obama enjoying a modest boost in support following the Democratic party convention, though how long that polling "bounce" will last remains uncertain.

The latest results from two daily telephone tracking surveys conducted by Gallup and Rasmussen Reports show a very similar pattern. Both had found a roughly even race on interviews conducted in the month of August before the conventions, and both now show Obama leading Republican nominee Mitt Romney by similar margins (5 and 4 percentage points, respectively).

The latest Gallup Daily interviews spanned the full week, from September 2 to 8, with roughly half coming before the speeches by Presidents Clinton and Obama on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Rasmussen's recent interviews were conducted September 6 to 8, so two-thirds of their respondents were called after Obama's speech.

Oh darn... Isn't Rasmussen the one you always cling to because it slants to the right? But I keep forgetting that you guys don't like polls unless they show you winning...Otherwise, "We don' need no steenkin' polls..." (or facts)...

Will the bounce last? Who knows... We know that RMoney didn't get one... And even the GOP pundits are saying that if RMoney loses the first debate, it's virtually over... So, as you say, "We'll see...."

Let's just follow convention rules...

All those in favor of letting Romney flush the next four years say "Aye"

...

All those in favor of letting Obama flush the next four years say "Ogglattaspallateationaryism"

...

In the opinion of me, the only one that really matters, the "ayes" have it.

Any complaints? File them with the Chair of the DNC.

Joe Scarborough: ‘Mitt Romney is in trouble’

A number of the latest polls have President Barack Obama expanding his lead over Mitt Romney, suggesting Romney’s presidential campaign is in need of a course correction.

On Monday’s broadcast of “Morning Joe” on MSNBC, host Joe Scarborough said the Romney campaign shouldn’t take the news lightly. Scarborough suggested Romney should start aggressively offering specifics.

“I mean, Mitt Romney is in trouble."

Scarborough referenced the 1975 campaign of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and the 1976 campaign of former President Ronald Reagan, where both offered specifics during their successful campaigns.

“The Romney people think that they can run a Bob Dole campaign, a John McCain campaign, a Gerald Ford campaign and win,” he continued. “That doesn’t happen. Republicans do not win by running these types of campaigns. And for those idiots out there saying that I’m a RINO or I’m not a conservative because I’m actually telling them we will lose if you don’t start running as a conservative: If you don’t start telling people what you believe — if you really do, in fact, believe in anything, and if you don’t start telling people, ‘Yes, these are the tax exemptions we’re going to take care of. Yes, this is how seniors who are going to be turning, you know, 65 in 15 years, this is how they’re going to be paying more. This is how we’re going to have to trim benefits. This is how we’re going to have to trim benefits on Social Security. These are the wars we can no longer fight. These are the weapons systems we can no longer afford.’”

You know, I feel the same way about:

Obama is a muslim
Obama is a Kenyan
Obama is a communist
Obama isn't a US citizen
Obama hangs out with "terrorists" (who never got convicted, and did their political activism when Obama was 8 years old)
Obama isn't a Christian...

Tell you what, ... When I stop seeing that crap, I'll stop hitting the morons with the empty chairs, and the offshore bank accounts.

Barack Obama Leads Mitt Romney By Six Points Nationally: CNN Poll

President Barack Obama leads Mitt Romney by six points nationally among likely voters, according to a CNN/ORC poll released Monday.

Fifty-two percent of likely voters support Obama, and 46 percent back Romney (2 percent responded neither, and 1 percent had no opinion). That's a four-point bump since a poll taken before the Democratic convention in Charlotte, N.C., when the two candidates were tied at 48 percent. Prior to both conventions, Obama had 49 percent to Romney's 47 percent.

Obama took the lead as the candidate better trusted to handle the economy, with 50 percent of likely voters saying he'd do a better job on the issue, compared to 49 percent who favored Romney (1 percent said neither). Prior to the Democratic convention, Romney led 51 to 45 on the issue.

Democrats also expressed renewed excitement following Charlotte, coming out on the winning side of the enthusiasm gap for only the second time in 2012, with 59 percent saying they were extremely or very enthusiastic to vote, compared to 57 percent of Republicans who felt similarly.

Ooops...Now it's up to 6 points among "likely voters"...

Jus' keep doin' what yer doin'...

That is ok. We'll see at election time.

We have no choice but to "keep doing what we are doing", because the other option would be to do what you are doing....which is driving this country into irrelevance.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

They'll just change the location of his "alleged birth" from Kenya to Mozambique and pick right up where they left off... However, this time, I don't think they're going to have as many of the teabaggers to block him.
