As did Laura Bush, and all the first ladies back to at least Daddy Bush... And so does the VP....And so does the Speaker of the House, because he/she is next-in-line to the presidency after the VP. It's a matter of security. And regardless who wins this election, it will continue.

I was just reading about the Finnish head of state flying commercial to Spain to approve loans to bail out the country and finding out even Spanish mayors had goverment planes. And started to wonder why he was bailing them out?

Maybe our own goverment needs to take a step back and examine the costs here. A commercial aircraft is already pretty darn safe. God forbid our elected officials and spouses actually have to communicate with the people.

Tell ya what, sunshine, why don't you submit that idea to the Secret Service...I'm sure they'll welcome your ideas, along with the rest of the tin-foil-hat crowd that they surely get suggestions from on a daily basis...

I know a way to save a few bucks--since that is obviously an obsession with you--Let's cut the Secret Service protection on Gov Etch-a-Sketch, and Lyin' Ryan and their families... Let's make them "more accessible"... And whatever happens, happens....
